Select any photos that will be displayed

When choosing the image of the deceased to be displayed, it is important to realise that it might be used in more than one way and represent the person in a way that people will remember him/her in a pleasant way. Sit with the family and pick an image that:

  • Is clear and in focus
  • Has only the person’s face in it
  • Not a group photo or a pose in which it is clear the person next to him/her has been chopped off
  • A photo where the person looks happy and not while they are ill
  • Photos are normally used in a vertical rectangle

If you want to pick other photos to go into the programme or other materials, it is advised to pick images that are neutral and positive and avoid any negative or troublesome associations.

If you are not sure which pictures are more appropriate, get a selection ready and ask the funeral home to assist you.
